I am looking for any info on children of William Halley and Rebecca Ferrall (Ferrell) of Bedford/Campbell County, VA. William Halley was born about 1765 in Fairfax County,Virginia and died 1806-1813, leaving Rebecca Ferrall Halley a widow. William was a son of Frances Halley Sr. Francis was born about 1741 in Prince William County,Virginia, and died 03 Mar 1817 in Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky and Frances Ann Sandford was his first wife. William Halley married Rebecca Ferrall (Ferrill on marriage record) on 12 Feb 1785, in Lynchburg, Campbell County,Virginia with John Otey as surety. Rebecca Ferrall was born about 1765 in Lynchburg, Bedford/Campbell County,Virginia and was the daughter of William Ferrall and Martha Cox of Bedford County, Virginia, who married 26 Jul 1744 at Hockessin Quaker Meeting House in New Castle Delaware. There is a Bedford County VA land sale to Owen Frankling on the 26th day of October 1795 between this Rebecca Ferrall Halley and her husband and some of her sisters and their husbands: Glover Baker and Mary (Ferrall) his Wife, Dan Stockton and Catherine (Ferrall) his Wife, William Halley and Rebeckey his Wife, Robert Baker and Hannah (Ferrall) his Wife, David Pagin (widower of Elizabeth Ferrall) & Jesse Hix & Jane (Ferrall) his Wife, of Bedford County of the one part and Owen Frankling of the said County of the other part. (Source: Deed Bk 9, pp 108-109) In the 1823 Bedford County VA Chancery suit of Cloe Thomas vs. Francis Halley in Bedford County VA(Choe being William Halley's sister), it indicates widow Rebecca Ferrall Halley has infant heirs (under age 21) but they were not named in the suit. A descendant of Willian Halley's brother Francis said one child of William and Rebecca Halley may be Frazier Halley who married a Hannah Baker in Roane County, Tennessee on 13 August 1814. Another seems to be Sarah Halley who married an Elias T. Allen in Roane County, Tennessee on 3 Oct 1809. Another child might be a David Halley. Rebecca Holly (Halley) bought land in Roane County, Tennesse in 1812 and 1813 witnessed by her son-in-law Elias T. Allen. Elias T. Allen and Sarah Halley left Roane County at some point for Clark County Arkansas and are noted in land and tax and Census records after 1828. Elias T. Allen bought land there in 1837 and died in Clark County Arkansas in 1840. Does anybody know anything about these or other children of William Halley and Rebecca Ferrall? Or does anybody know for sure where William Halley or his wife Rebecca died? Jan Notify Administrator about this message?
