The Campbell County Historical Society will meet Sunday October 26, 2003, at 3:30 PM at the Historic Courthouse in Rustburg. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jon Kukla, Executive Vice-president and director of Red Hill - The Patrick Henry National Memorial. He will present a program entitled, "The Louisiana Purchase: Then and Now." Dr. Kukla has written extensively about American History and culture for the major historical journals and in several books. His most recent book is titled, "A Wilderness so Immense: The Louisiana Purchase and the Destiny of America."

There will also be an update on recent changes and activities of the Courthouse Museum.

You do not have to be a member to attend as the meeting is open to the public. If you wish to be a member you may download a PDF version of the application at the following site:
http://www.myvirginiaheritage.com/cemetery_books.htm

There is also a PDF version of our October newsletter available there for you to download (be patient, it takes a while). Members receive our quarterly newsletter in the mail. It contains information pertaining to Campbell County both past and present. Dues are only $10 per year. Check out this copy and be sure to join so you don't miss out on the next issue!
