The will of my 3rd great grandfather, ROBERT SIMPSON,states that, "He leaves the manor plantation where he now lives to his dear wife,SARAH SIMPSON and daughters during her natural life and at her death to be divded between all of my chidren." ROBERT does not name his other children or his daughters, but names just his young son,ROBERT SIMPSON II, who he says is his youngest son. RORBERT SIMPSON I names the following people, who he calls his loving and trusty friends. JAMES DIXON and WILLIAM DUNWOODIE, who are his executors.
The witnesses are: JOHN WILSON, OWEN FRANKLIN and JAMES DUNWOODIE.
This will was probated 6 June 1782 in Campbell Co.by SARAH SIMPSON, re-elect of the decedent, along with JAMES FITZPATRICK, JAMES CAMPBELL and WILLIAM SIMPSON.
As you can see, there are a lot of interesting people in this will; most all of them I have researched, trying to find where ROBERT SIMPSON came from before he lived in Campbell Co. as he wasn't in the County very long before he died.
Can anyone tell me where some of these people were before coming to Campbell Co.?
I am interested in your comments.
