Ms. Tilton,
I have been researching various Smith families in Buckingham, and in the tax records I repeatedly have seen reference to Thomas and Robert Smith as sons of a "Betty Smith". I also saw reference to a William Smith being a son of Elizabeth Smith one year, then son of Betty Smith in a subsequent tax year. Is this "Betty" the same person as the Elizabeth Hardiman Smith in your family?
I also saw in the tax records that an Elizabeth Smith sold 65 acres she had patented from the state, to a Jesse Smith, son of William Smith.
Does any of the above look familiar? Thanks in advance!
