WOOD/WOODS DNA Old Albemarle county has lots of us

Have any of the rest of you with Albemarle/Louisa/Amherst/Fluvanna/ Buckingham Counties submitted DNA to familytreemakerDNA? Old Albemarle in 1744 included those counties except Louisa, which added territory to Albemarle in 1761.

Michael Woods line of north Albemarle has DNA done and Joseph who may be the son of Nathan of land north of Moreman River and may be a cousin or nephew of Patrick Woods who bought land in Louisa in 1756 on Rocky Creek.has his. .

Now We jumped the pond with Joseph's DNA...Co Cheshire documented since 1634 matches Joseph. .
Another family is now identified as matching Joseph's DNA from Derbyshire, England . that John was born 1652. and was in Long Island to marry the first time, then Marblehead MA before marrying a 2nd time in Kingston, Ulster Co 1682 My Joseph was born in Albemarle in 1745, but we know nothing about his father or when he/they came. By naming custom, his father should be John . Other sons are James, Patrick (unusual in English lines), David, Joseph, Wm, Samuel.

I suspect Joseph came west from the coast as 9/10s of the Albemarle people are said to have done.

Joseph after time in Augusta/Rockbridge, went to Greene Co NC, future east TN and to Blount County, TN before settling in his 60s in G ibson County, Indiana.

So often the submitted information by those who have DNA tests. doesn't do a good job on where and when for the one trying to match. and recognize. Knowing it isn't a match is as important as matching. Please reply if you have those counties and have had DNA.done.

Look forward to learning from you. Nancy.
