Hi,
Peyton,

Have you seen the book called "Hobson's Chapel" by Agnes Evans Gish? The cover says, "18th Early 19th Century Settlement along Branches of Deep Creek, Cumberland-Powbatan Counties, Virginia". Cartersville, if its the one you referenced, is in this book. I own a copy.
