I am looking for info on Ellis Lee b. 1 Jan 1888 in Buchanan County s/o Richard A. Lee b. April 1957 VA and
Lizza Marie Lambert Ratliff b. April 1867 and were married in 1884.
Richard and Lizza Marie Lee had the following children.
Garland b. circa 1900
Thomas Jefferson b. Feb 1886 Buchanan Co., VA d. 16 Oct 1941
Rolly b. May 1890 Buchanan Co., VA
Robert b. Mar 1892, Buchanan Co., VA
Stella b. Apr 1894, Buchanan Co., VA
Ethel b. abt 1907, Buchanan Co., VA
This is my son's great-grandfather and he married Minerva Morgan 26 June 1907 in McDowell Co. WVA. They had one child, Maggie. Ellis and Minerva divorced and contact with him or knowledge of his whereabouts was lost. I do believe that he joined the army. I found who I believe to be him in the 1920 Georgia Census at Harps Mill Ferry, Camp Benning, GA US Military Reserve. It was given as
Lee, Ellis - 39(32) single, US Army Color Corp.
Someone told me he died in a Veteran's Home but I really would like to know where he died, when he died and where he is burried. It is sad to loose someone so close and not know where to visit the grave.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I have searched for years for him.
