Research Help and Suggestion

I need some help researching in Buchanan County, Virginia. I was told by my mother that her grandmother remarried and relocated to Buchanan County, Virginia after her divorce. I tried to research Buchanan County several years ago and became frustrated with the lack of finding aids and resources available for the area. I had given up until last week; an email correspondent (related) suggested (again) that my great-grandmother may have gone to Buchanan County, Virginia.

My great grandmother was Rebecca, born 1850 to Silas and Mary (Ferguson) Fannin in Wayne County (WV). They lived in Butler District, Wayne County 1850 through 1880. Rebecca married my great-grandfather, Reece Workman, in 1868 and divorced him in 1877. My grandfather grew up with Reece Workman and his second wife, and we were told that Rebecca remarried and moved away. No one could remember who she married or where they went, so I have not been able to find records on her (anywhere) after 1877.

Silas Fannin (b. 1822 KY) and Mary (Ferguson) FANNIN (b. 1825 VA) had children: Theodore 1845; Easton S. 1848; Rebecca 1850; Jeremiah 1855; John 1857; Thomas 1860; G. Washington 1862; Mary Belle 1864; Calista 1866; and William 1868. Silas was a Confederate in the Civil War. He performed marriages in Wayne County (WV) from 1871 to 1887. After 1887, there are no records of them either in Wayne County (WV). Silas’ sons, John Fannin died at Odds, Kentucky 1923, and Thomas Fannin died in Ashland, Kentucky in 1940.

I have done web searches and visited the Buchanan County, Virginia GenWeb. Any suggestions?

Thanks.
