Jennifer, I answered your query on the Church Surname Genforum. But I thought of something else. My husband received a email from a woman a few weeks ago and she was searching for a Louisa Church, mother of George Washington Church. Now the thing that is odd is that he was raised by a Clevinger family also in Buchanan County. Apparently left with the Clevenger family by the mother. Most of the Churchs in Buchanan Co. descended down through Joel Church Sr. In fact I have never seen a Church line other than that one in the census. You state in your query that you have lost a child to cystic fibrosis. So far my husbands family has never had any one that has had CF. We thank God for that. And my heart goes out to you. If you email me I will send you the ladys email address who was asking about her grandfather who was left with the Clevinger family. There may be some connection there..I live in McDowell County Wva. and I have a neighbor that is a Clevinger.. So email me Lucy Church
