I Have the location of Sang Camp, It is actually a Creek at the north-east corner of Brown's Ridge at Route 621 in Buchanan Co. The creek flows into the Dismal Creek which in turn flows into the north fork of the Levisa River. The reason I know of its location is that my Ancestor's James P. Brown had land that was marked by Sang Camp Creek and looking in a DeLorme Topographical Map for Virginia I have found its location. It is east of Whitewood between Brown's Ridge and Jewell Ridge Coal Camp. Census records of 1860-1880 called it the Contrary Post district and Garden District and I believe the land would now be owned by the Jewell Ridge Coal Company or the Gas Company. I have been to the mountain twice this fall. I would be glad to help you with any questions you have about the area. What is your reason for knowing this information?, Whose family are you tracing?
