Would like to correspond with anyone who thinks he/she may descend from Capt. Brazure Cocke, d. c. 1770 in Brunswick Co. He was a native of Henrico County, VA--born at Malvern Hill plantation to Thomas Cocke, Jr. and Mary Brassieur of Nansemond. His wife was Frances (maiden name unknown) and he had the following children: William (d. 1795, Granville Co., NC), James (predeceased father), Thomas (moved to Cumberland Co., VA), Elizabeth (m. 1. ---- Holt, 2. Samuel Burch, Granville Co.), Fanny, wife of John Oliver of Granville Co., NC, Mary Anderson, Susannah Coleman, Martha Cocke (m. in Granville, William Merritt, and later moved to Chatham Co., NC), and Ann (m. Robert Cheek and moved through Bute County to ORange, where he died.)
