Hi Rex,

Good to hear from you. We need to visit concerning the James family. I believe I do have a Mason and James marriage but need further proof.

The James Mason and Polly Hancock family probably moved at the same time with the James, House and Hancock families of Brunswick Co. on to Rutherford Co. TN. As you know two of Polly Hancock's siblings married into the James families. Polly's brother Francis having married first Martha James in 1804 and then following Martha's death, Francis married secondly Elizabeth House, both marriages in Brunswick Co. Also, Francis and Polly's sister Martha Patsy married John James 1802 Brunswick.

To me this is interesting since my ancestor Thomas Mason married Eliza Newsom 1840 Sussex Co. and they along with descendants of the Crawley House and Nancy Stuart families and also siblings of Nancy Stuart, along with Eliza Newsom Mason's brother William Newsom's famiy, and also the Jeter and Short families moved to Haywood Co. TN. James Mason, son of Christopher Jr., and my great grandfather Thomas Mason, son of Henry Mason, were first cousins. My brother Farrel E. "Gene" Mason is also represented on the Mason Worldwide DNA Site as 70287.

The Mason's shown in the Mason and Bell Bible are the Mason and Curry family of Pennsylvania. They are Pat Clare's line and are also represented on the Mason DNA Site.

James and Polly's son Henry P. Mason married Mary Stevens and they resided for many years in Williamson Co. TN. By the time Henry P. Mason moved his family on to Tarrant Co. TX, his oldest son James E. Mason had married Mary Susan Halfacre and they were residing over in Davidson Co. TN. James and Mary chose to remain in TN and sometime between 1870 and 1872 they moved to Madison Co. TN.

Again, thanks for your postings. Please e-mail me direct to discuss the Mason and James families.
