Thank you for the information. I had bits and pieces, but not the entire description. You mentioned that the Lewis Malone deed 'sells negro boy named Dick' was the same year that John Sexton was married to Mrs. Malone. That is not obvious reading the Deed, unless I am missing something. Can you help me here?

Also, the deed mentioned above was dated March 1763 according to my records. I also show a Lunenburg County, Virginia Court Order Book 9, page 41, 12 May 1763 naming the children of John Sexton, deceased. This suggests that John Sexton was in Brunswick County to get married in 1763 and died in May the same year. I am assuming (without a map handy) that Brunswick County and Lunenburg County are neighbors.

Finally, are there any records of who Lewis Malone's father was?

Thanks again for all your help.
