WHO WAS the Thomas Singleton who purchased land in Brunswick Co., VA in the 1750's?

Patents No. 33, 1756-61, p. 531 and p. 654 identify 2 parcels bought by a Thomas Singleton. The first was 400 a. adjoining John Ingrams, Maclin's, and Hagoods line. The second was 142 a. on the lower side of Cox Creek. Any help greatly appreciated!
