I have a Henry Brown Jr. in my line whom I believe may be the spouse of the Alice Beard you listed. From about 1742 on Henry resided at various places along the upper Roanoke River in the vicinity of Salem. His name appears many times in court records and deed books for old Augusta County, which at that time may have included land now in Bedford and Botetourt counties. One entry dated August 20, 1760 states that Henry and "his wife Alice" conveyed a deed to his sister Esther for 54 acres of land on "Lick Run, a branch of Roanoke River."

If you think we have a connection and want information about Henry and his family, let me know.
