I am seeking information on JOHN BEARD born circa 1705, died Nov. 26,1780 in Bedford County VA. In 1725, John Beard purchased 521 acres of land on both sides of Savages Run in Prince George County partof which later became Brunswick County. Late, John Beard purchased several parcels of land on "Falling River" according to Lunenberg and Bedford County Deed Books.
ELIZABETH BEARD [LNU--may have been Rutherford]was born circa 1710, possibly in Grason County VA. She died in 1782 in what became Campbell County, VA.
Their children, born in Lunnenberg County VA, were:
Agnes Beard b.c. 1723 m.William Rutherford
Adam Beard b. 1725 m.Elizabeth [LNU]
Ann Beard b 1727
Rachel Beard b.1730 m.Edward Phair Farr
Elizabeth Beard b 1731 m.Archibald Campbell
Isabel Beard b. 1732 m.Shadrack Boaz
Hanna Beard b.1735 m.William Rutherford
Alice Beard b.1737 m.Henry Brown
A John Beard first appears in 1724 on Savages Run in Prince George County deeds. I understand that portions of Prince George county became part of BRUNSWICK County and later Lunnenberg county. In 1743, John Beard patented 400a of land in Lunenberg. In 1743, John Beard listes as owning parcels of land "on Falling River" in Lunenberg. On Novmber 26, 1780, John Beard died. His will is recorded in Bedford county Will Book A.
I would love to exchange information with anyone who is researching this line. Thank you for your consideration.
