How many David Blalocks?

I am a descendent of David Blalock, born 1752 in Brunswick Co. VA.
There is more than one 'David Blalock'; one who married Karen Vaughn in VA, another married Ann Beal(my ancestor I believe) in NC. It seems these two men are about the same age; cousins?
Since there were several Blalock men during that time, in about the same area, it seems possible they were several brothers who named their sons after their brothers.
I believe there is another, maybe two more "David Blalocks" also living during that time in the NC and VA area. To add more confustion, the father of my David Blalock was also named David. And they both married women named Ann. So the younger David Blalock had a mother and a wife named Ann.
Any information about these confusing ancestors would be most gratefully appreciated.
Thank you. Lynn Campbell
