There were several families of Hites in America during the 1700s, starting with Hans Yost Hite (Joist Hite) who arrived in Virginia in 1732. I am not related to the Hites, but did research on them because I believe my ancestors were among the Scotch-Irish who traveled with Yost from PA to VA. I believe Henry was one of Yost's sons or possibly g.son. At one time I had a fair amount of info re this family, but lost all in a computer crash last winter. Do know Yost was very active in Botetort Co. Try entering <Yost Hite> in google and genealogy pages, e.g. GenWeb where you enter name and state to search. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/newsearch.htm

Good luck.
