Saw your message.
Most of the records (wills, marriage, death, birth, etc.) can be found in the historic Fincastle Courthouse. There is a building off to the right of the courthouse which houses the official documents.
You probably could get the telephone number for the courthouse (Clerk of the Court).
Historic Fincastle is right off of VA ST RT 220, going North from Daleville.
True, there are some records located in the Montgomery Co. Courthouse, as well. But, most of those deal more with Montgomery Co..
Fincastle Courthouse does have a genealogical research helper...They may be able to get some info. for you...There will probably be a cost.
Also, some of the records (a book, here and there) that may be gone ... they tend to send out books to the State Headquarters to be put on MicroFilm/etc.... at least, that was my understanding.
Hope it helps! Good Luck with your research.
