I believe that I too am a descendant of Johannes Kesler. He is my fifth gr grandfather. His son Jacob married Elizabeth Shearer, their son Andrew married a Margaret Housman. Their daughter Sarah married a Wiley James Matthews. His dauthter was my great grandmother Nancy Margaret Rosella Matthews of Franklin Co. She moved to Petersburg, VA after she and her husband George W Brooks gave up farming in Franklin Co and lived with their two dauthters (who were identical twins) who married brothers. I also remember my great grandmother. She lived to be 97. Was still quilting pieces into quilt tops even though she had lost her eyesight in the last year she lived. I have been to the cemetery in Franklin Co where the Kesslers are buried..The Wingo Cemetery. There is an Elizabeth Kelser buried there that has a date of b Jan 1796 and d Jan 10, 1887 it says on the stone she was married to a Henry Kesler. Henry died Jan 22 1850. This cemetery is documented in Cemetery Records of Franklin CO compiled by the Franklin Co Historical Society also.
I am interested in knowing more about Johannes and his coming to the US and documentation on this.
There was mention of a book in a posting just after yours. Have you written a book or do you know of one?
This Henry and Elizabeth Kessler must tie in somewhere. Wondering if I can locate the book mentioned in that posting after yours.
