Peter Boyer ca 1800

Looking for information on the family and descendants Peter Boyer who moved to Frederick County Maryland with his brother John in the mid 1790's. Peter was born in 1765 probably in Berks County, Pennsylvania, the son of Benjamin Boyer, possibly the Benjamin Boyer who was a Lieut and then a Capt. during the Revolution.

Ben came over here ca. 1760 from Germany. His father was Jacob from Sedan, France. Ben is supposed to have married prior to leaving Germany. Peter was the first child born on this side of the Atlantic.

Peter may have married prior to leaving Pennsylvania.

Tradition dictates that John and Peter changed the spelling of there last name to Beyer upon arriving in Frederick County. However, I have never found any evidence of this.

John married Mary Burkhart, daughter of George and Anna Margarethe Zimmerman in Frederick County December 28, 1796 and they 7 children.

John eventually moved to Botetourt County, Virginia and Darke County, Ohio, but no trace of Peter has ever been found.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
