Patty, Did you know that was a nickname for Martha? Too, are you a descendant of this ZELL family? I am presuming you are, otherwise you wouldn't be interested in this name.
Betsy Johnson stated in one of the censuses that she was born in MD. Where, we don't know as yet. But, Peter stated in a letter to
the Brethren Church that he was born in PA,
lived in VA and was now 73 and in ORegon.
(Where he died and is buried).
According to a rezsearch job in VA or on theWagoner family, she states Julia Ann ZELL
WAS d/o Thomas & Martha. Well, until we find Thomas at a date earlier than l807, when he buys land in Botetourt, we cannot say who his wife was. HOWEVER! The name, Martha, is carried down to today. And, that states there is another one back there, probably we are descended from.
I have been a genealogist for almost 30 years. And, I know the name Velma is also carried in my family, but haven't learned who it was after. I have a sister, Velma Joan Werst, and there was a Velma listed in the desc. of Peter Zell, as well.
Is Annie Worrell the one who wrote the RW Pension records for so many places???
