Thank you so much for the offer, I would be happy to return the favor for Charledton records if you have the need, or share my other Va. information.
I am looking for marriages for Padgetts (Pagetts /Pagitts) and/or mention of them from about 1740 to 1770. I have traced the migration from Essex Co. Va. to Bedford and Amherst, then five "supposed" brothers appear in Rowan Co N/C.(just over the line)in the 1771 tax list. These "brothers" are born circa 1754-1771 and I have searched almost ten years for their parent. I have made three trips to Essex Co., three trips to Archives in Richmond, and written more clerks of court than I want to think about, all to no avail. Perhaps the records I seek are in "the burned counties" records but I'm still looking. The names that are repeated for 380 years in the family are, Edmond(or) Edward, (written Edm. so it is hard to tell with some styles of handwriting) Abraham, Ephriam, John and William.Any of these names are a likely candidate for a parent of these sons. I am looking for a marriage, or a will that would have these names on it, that would document these sons. Any help you have time to provide would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks SO much and please let me know if I can return the favor, I have a good bit of info on allied Virginia families that might be of use to you.
