No connection to William Mayes yet? I am still digging. Coleman May (my gg grandfather, showed up in Logan County, Kentucky in 1804 when he married Sarah (Sally)Ragsdale (Ragsdell). He lived there for at least 40 years. All census records indicate he was born in VA and I am trying to make a connection. During the 1850 census, Logan County, Ky., living with hime and Sally besides their children were Patsey May, born ca 1785 in Virginia; Matilda Lewis, born ca 1817 in Kentucky and her children, Sarah, William James and Thomas Lewis,k also Wesley Ragsdale born ca 1827 in Kentucky. I know for certain Coleman and Sally's children were a boy born ca 1805, Coleman b ca 1820, Martha and Woodson (my g grandfather). And, I almost postive Milton Madison born ca 1819 and Allen Elijah born ca 1814 are his children as well. Does any of this sound familir?
