John Caldwell born Nov 11, 1790 and his second wife Ruth Reynolds (first wife Polly Brooks) were of Botetourt County.
This particular John was one of the 12 children of William F. Caldwell (b.1766) and Priscilla Looney, of which William had 6 additional children with Fanny Anderson.
The youngest child of Priscilla was Michael, born 1810. Michael was my g-g-g-grandfather.
I have no data on your Archibald or that 1790 John had a son named Archibald. I offer this only because of the Ruth connection. If this John and Ruth are your descendants, we are cousins.
Could use some help. I cannot get solid, good info on the parents and grandparents of William F. Some say John and Susannah Edminson, others have a William or a John and Elizabeth, but those same sources can all be debunked with dates and ages that don't make sense when you try to find the grandparents. The John and Susannah seem to be the best bet in that someone tracked down several children associated with this couple, as well as dates, but they were unreliable or inaccurate on this Johns parentage, the grandparents of William. If you have any luck, please let me know.

Mike Caldwell
