CORRECTION: It now seems certain that the William Davidson who bought land in Botetourt around 1774 from the Murray family was NOT the William Davidson who married Martha Baker. He was instead an unrelated William Davidson from PA who married first Sarah McCoy and second the widow Mrs. Elizabeth (Wilson) McCrea. It appears that William and Martha (Baker) Davidson did not move from the Buckingham/Prince Edward Co., VA area to the Botetourt Co., VA until around 1782, when they purchased some land from John Greenlee.
