My great grandma's name was Julia Boone, we knew her dad was a doctor but had no first name for him, through census records, I found a very possible match, but later found there may have been a name change. The census I'm most sure about is a 1910 census taken in Botetourt, VA, their surname is Boone. I found another census, of a physician from VA, with Rosa also listed as his wife, and some of the same kids names, but the last name is Borne, and someone left a note attached saying this George A. Borne is the same George A. Boone. Other info I have is George's daughter Julia is my great grandma, and was half Indian (Cherokee). So either Rosa or George must of been full Cherokee. Back then, Indians were assigned english names, so I'm wondering if this is why the names are confusing. Julia, my mom's grandma died when my mom was only 8. All she remembers is she looked very indian, had long black hair and always had it in a braid. She had dementia, and my mother being young was kinda scared of her, b/c she mumbled, and would reach out to hug her, kind of grasping at her. Julia left Botetourt, VA and went to Roanoke, VA between 1910-1920 and married Samuel McDaniel Stone, of Scot-Irish descent, their son Samuel Boone Stone is my grandfather. (Also take note that there is a Stone listed on the census living with the Boones in 1910 but it's not Julia's husband and he is 6 years younger than her, not sure what's going on there).

George A. Boone (*may have had a name change, found 1900 census name as Borne) b. 1862 (Borne) or 1850 (Boone)
Wife: Rosa Boone b. 1852(Borne) or 1856 (Boone)
Son: Edgar Boone b. 1883 (Borne) or 1886 (Boone)
Daughter: Vergie Boone b. 1888 or Virgie Borne b. 1885
Daughter: Julia Boone b. 1890 or Julia Borne b. 1888
Son: John (Custer?) Boone b.1889, same birth date listed as John Borne
Daughter: Janie Boone b. 1894 (not listed on Borne census)
Relation? Earnist (or Ernest) Stone (13 yrs old born about 1897 listed on Boone census in 1910, not listed on Borne census of 1900)
Relation? Jennett Borne (not listed on Boone census) b. 1880
Relation? Arthur Borne (not listed on Boone census) b.1881
