Patricia. Hello.

My Lynems originated out of Stafford County. A Rose Lynem had to bound out her children, Margaret and Francis Lynem, to Peter Routt of Stafford County. When Peter died, Margaret and Francis were bound out to John Withers and William Routt. John Withers was the husband of Hannah Routt Withers. After Hannah died, John Withers moved to Botetourt County [1774-1780]. Margaret became an adult in Botetourt and was released from her indenture but her children were under age and still bound to John Withers.

John Withers and his new wife moved to Fayette County, KY [later Jessamine County, KY] say 1781 and Margaret followed. Her children were indentured to John Withers.

My Lynems had a pretty clear trek. I'm trying to find out about the details involving their experience while in Botetourt.

Keith
