First this is a correction to the name of Solomon as the first posting should have said Elizabeth SALMON. Talk about a "senior moment"! Ugh William Henry married Elizabeth Salmon June 8, 1802 in Botetourt Co. VA. I believe this may be the first marriage for William Henry who died 1814 Botetourt Co. and of whom I’ve been researching for quite some time now. From another researcher I was advised a year or so back that this William Henry who married Rachel McElhaney, May 26, 1806 in Botetourt Co., was the father of Samuel and Peggy Henry by Rachel. That the first two sons of William Henry would have been from an earlier marriage. This is based on two source documents, a War of 1812 noting Rachel’s heirs by William Henry and secondly her Estate documents. This information also coincides with the documents I have regarding both William A. Henry born July 27, 1804 Botetourt Co. and for his brother John Henry. If anyone has information regarding this Elizabeth Salmon I surely would appreciate your help. It is strange as there was an earlier marriage, also in Botetourt Co., of an Elizabeth Salmon to Samuel Henry Dec 18, 1790- bond Jacob Salmon, witness E. McClanahan. Surely the Elizabeth Salmon that married Samuel Henry would have gone by the name of Elizabeth Henry if she remarried? I have also read that Samuel and Elizabeth moved to SC. William Henry of Botetourt Co. married secondly Rachel McIlhaney, 1806 in Botetourt Co. William Henry died in 1814 and Rachel married John Jenkins in 1816. If anyone is familiar with the Elizabeth Salmon who married William Henry in 1802, would you please contact me. Thanking you in advance, Carolyn Anderson Notify Administrator about this message?
