Migration: Per Pension App, Resided in Bedford, Henry and Patrick Counties in VA (about 30 yrs) after the war. After that he lived in Wayne Co, KY about 2 yrs; Nelson Co, KY about 2 yrs; and then to Lawrence Co, IN where he resided about 16-17 years as of 1832, the date of the application.1817
Military: Revolutionary War; 3 months in 1778; 3 months in 1779; 3 months in 1781: He enlisted in Henry County, Virginia, in the summer of 1778 and served three months as private in Company commanded by Titus Shelton and Edward Tatum in Colonel Cleveland's Virginia Regiment. While a resident of Bedford County, Virginia, he enlisted in 1779 and served three months as private in Captain John Trigg's Company, Colonel Thomas Merriwether's Virginia Regiment. He enlisted in April or March, 1781, and served three months as private in Captain Clamment's Company, Major Ward's Virginia Regiment; he was in the Battle of Ninety-Six. He enlisted in 1781 and served, length not stated, a private in Colonel Lee's Brigade.
(During 1778 service he was in several skirmishes with the Tories, Company commanded by Capt S Shelton. In 1779 Capt could be Traggs. He enlisted for a fourth tour of duty, but was taken sick and left the service. He served his country in the states of VA, NC and SC, and was in the Battle of Ninety-six in SC.)
