I am looking for information on William Turpin family who settled in Somerset KY--Pulaski Co. He was 11 years old ib 1850 Census. His father was William F. Turpin, b: 1803 N.C. He was 47 on 1850 Census. His wife was Milly Turpin. William F.Turpin's father was Solomon, age 70 on 1850 Census, born 1780 in VA. His wife was Sarah Turpin, 60, born in VA, in 1790. I have been told to look in Bedford Co. VA. My husband's grandmother was Elizabeth Turpin, daughter of William Turpin & Lucinda Ford. Elizabeth was born in Somerset, KY in 1888, then moved to OH, was married to Edward Gerrard in Warren Co. OH. I have their marriage application dated 10/17/1809. They both died in Montgomery Co.OH. I have gotten the information from Frankfort, KY recently on William Turpin, etc. on the 1850 Census. They show the 1870 Pulaski Co. Census William P. Ford, 27, farmer, born KY in 1843.
Lucinda R. Ford. 28, born KY, birthdate 1842.
A Rachel Castle, age 24, KY 1845. I assume these people all lived in their respective homes. They also listed these children and I presume they were Turpins living together:
Washington, Aaron, Minerva, Solomon, and Sarah, listed with William F. Turpin and Milly Turpin. They gave no other information, so I surmise this is what it means. Do you have any information on Turpins living in Bedford Co. at this time?
