Looking for researchers of Richard Fields and Margaret Crabtree family of Russell County, Virginia. Their daughter Margaret Fields married Stephen Brown of Russell County, Va. My goal is to determine the parents of Stephen Brown. Stephen and Margaret had a daughter named Margaret Ann Brown. I have her born 1816 in Rockbridge County, Va. and died 1851 in Montgomery County, Indiana. I'm not sure about the birth place. Margaret Ann Brown married David VanCleave Smoch in August of 1835 in Jefferson Co., Indiana. He was the son of Samuel V. Smock and Rachel Ryker.

David and Margaret Smock had 3 children:
William Calvin Smock 1841-1888 born in Indiana
Finley McKennan Smock 1844-1922 born in Indiana
Harriett Newell Smock 1847-1870 born in Indiana

After Margaret Ann died, David married Ann Elizabeth Sherrill and they had two more children: Andrianna and Jesse Duncan.

Below is my Best Guess trail by year of the details of this family:
1816, Dec 29 - Margaret Ann Brown born in Virginia.
1835, August - Jefferson County, Indiana - Margaret Ann Brown, daughter of Stephen Brown and Margaret Fields, married David VanCleave Smock
1840 - Henry County, Indiana census - David V. Smock and Margaret Ann his first wife.
1850 - Johnson County, Indiana census - David V. Smock and Margaret Ann - Margaret Fields Brown (her mother) in the census as well.
1850/60 - probably Johnson County, Indiana - Margaret Fields Brown died. (Stephenís wife and Margaret Annís mother)
1851, April 26 - Montgomery County, Indiana - Margaret Ann Brown Smock died. She is buried in Old Town Cemetery, Crawfordsvile, Montgomery County, Indiana (Find-A-Grave memorial #54402983).
