Susanna Radey/Ready/Reedy, 1805, Bedford Co VA
Posted by: Benjamin Cyrus Jr. (ID *****3548) Date: February 21, 2011 at 20:14:02
  of 1955

My great-great-great-grandmother, Susanna RADEY, married James DIXON 1 NOVEMBER 1805, according to American Quaker Genealogy, Vol. 6. No one has been able to trace any Radey family in Bedford County. Two days ago, I learned that Radey was often a misspelling of "Ready" or "Reedy." Does anyone have any information about a Susanna REEDY or READY from Bedford County circa 1805? The Dixons were plentiful in the Goose Creek area. The 1820 Bedford VA Census, Southern District, shows within the household 1 free white male under 10, 1 free white male 16 and under 26, and 2 free white females 16 and under 26. Any information or assistance greatly appreciated.
