Benjamin Rice ~ Rev War

I would like to learn more about Benjamin Rice. From the Rice GenForum it is said he was mentioned in the Paxton DAR papers. John Paxton and Lieut. Benjamin Rice of Bedford Co, VA were on an expedition that camped on "Lick Creek" in present day Greene Co, TN. Also it was said he wanted to return to that area, but never did. By chance did he tell friends and family about the place?

My Daniel Rice sold land in Henry Co, VA in 1785 (this area at one time part of Bedford). In 1789 he and his wife Judith joined the Big Pigeon Baptist Church in what would become East TN. In 1790 he obtained a NC land grant south of the Nolichucky on Big Creek, which is near "Lick Creek." Is there any connection between these two men?

What happened to Benjamin Rice? Anyone know anything about his family?
