Hi! I am seeking a connection between Taylor and Pate families of Bedford Co., VA and/or Montgomery Co., VA. In particular, the land on Little River in Montgomery Co. was sold by Jeremiah Pate to Creed Taylor in the 1820s. A neighbor (last name Hall) acted as attorney-in-fact for Pate who had moved to Ripley, Indiana. Creed Taylor was the son of a John Taylor and wife, Mary (last name unknown) of Bedford Co., VA. This Creed Taylor is not the attorney and founder of Needham law school in Farmville, Va, but is said to be a relative. I think the Halls and Pates were connected. Is there a Taylor connection other than the purchase of this land? Thanks for any help!
