James Haynes, born 1760 Bedford co, VA filed for a Revolutionary War pension (approved) while living in Henry co TN in 1832. The information therein has proved to be very accurate as to his life after the Revolutionary War. Therefore, I am assuming it probably was accurate when he says he was born in Bedford co VA in 1760 and volunteered into the military there in the late 1770's

There is a 1758 Bedford co VA list of militia and payments for the militia that included three Haynes. They are William, George, and John. Depending on their ages, any of them might be James's (born 1760) father.

Also, there are 1760 Bedford co VA land warrants for William and Henry Haynes. Thus we can add Henry to the list of possible fathers.

Does anyone have any info on these Bedford co VA William, James, George, and Henry Haynes that might be helpful in finding James's father?
