James Thomas Orphan of John Thomas, 1759
Posted by: Robert Thomas (ID *****7940) Date: February 12, 2008 at 19:41:37
  of 1955

While doing some research in the VA Room in the Roanoke Library I found the following Bedord County Court Record:

"January 1759
Ordered that the churchwardens bind out James Thomas, orphan of John Thomas."

How do I find out who this James Thomas, orphan was bound out to, and where can I find the actual Church records regarding this family issue?

I also found a Court Record dated 27 June 1757 which states:

"John Thomas is appointed a Constable of this County, and it is ordered that Sheriff summon him to appear at the next Court to take the oath of his office."

Where would I find records regarding his service as County Constable?

Thanks,

Bobby Thomas,
Wake Forest, NC
