I don't know about the Daltons or the Chenaults. Abner Foster is part of my research.

Abner (b. abt 1759) was the younger brother of James Foster (b. abt 1742). Abner was surety at the marriage of James' son Druester (m. 1786), leading me to think James was dead or far away. (Source - The Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy. 1750-1930, Vol. VI, Bedford County Marriage Bonds)

The same source shows James Foster Jr. marrying Elizabeth Wiggonton; Thornton O'Neal, Surety; Consent of John Wiggonton; Married by Joseph Drury, Oct. 16, 1792. And, William Foster marrying Martha Wigginton; John Wigginton, Surety; Married by James Scott, May 25, 1818.

I think/believe/trying-to-prove that James Jr. was the son of James, brother of Druester, nephew of Abner, and that John might also be James' son, or nephew.

Hope that helps.
