John Calvin Carter was the second son of William H. Carter 1820- 1896, buried on Black Oak Ridge in Bath Co. On the old Carter estate at that location. William H. Carter was the third son of John and Sarah Perry Carter of Albemarle Co. Va. Sarah Perry was the grand daughter of William Hamner a Recognized American Revolution Patriot. Therefore any decendenant of John Calvin Carter would be elgible dfor Membership In The DAR {females} or SAR {males].
