One of my GGrandfathers-William Morton-- owned some of that property. I don't know whether it was in MD or VA, I think VA because the family was in Va from 1600's. I do know that he sold his property,"because it wasn't worth anything, being swamp land"!!!! He may have sold it about 1785-1800.
I want to fill in this part of our family history but can't seem to find the proper Dept where I can get this information.
Can anyone direct me to the correct location of such records?
