Mr. Howell, I believe that I have found Godfrey Boone. There is an interment at the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Va in the confederate section listed in the records as Boone, G. - Co. H, 13th SC.
During the war, the Pest House was located there which handled contagious cases such as Small Pox. Dr. John Terrell who was the head doctor there is famous for his research on Small Pox and Glanders which affects horses. In all, Lynchburg had 32 hospitals from 1861 to 1865. The website for the cemetery is http://www.gravegarden.org/
A very interesting and well researched book on Lynchburg and its hospitals during the war is "A Prototype of a Confederate Hospital Center in Lynchburg,Virginia" by Peter W. Houck.
