From the book The Wills of Amherst Co., VA 1761-1865, by The Rev. Bailey Fulton Davis, pub. 1985 by Southern Historical Press, the following is the exact way it was shown in the book: "CORNL. VAUGHAN -- Book 1, Page 218 -- Guardians Bond -- JOS. EDWARDS, ISAAC WRIGHT, PHILIP THURMOND, August 3, 1772, for JOS. EDWARDS as guardian of CORNL. VAUGHAN, orphan of MARTIN VAUGHAN, deceased. Book 2, Page 23 -- August 20, 1779; September 3, 1781. Witnesses: JNO. MERRITT, WM. CARTER, MARY ANN WARE. Brother, JNO. VAUGHAN; sister, ANN EDWARDS; sister, MARY ANN VAUGHAN; my wife, ANN. Administrators: wife and friend, PETER CARTER. CARTER qualified with bondsmen: NOELL JOHNSON, JOS. DILLARD. Book 2, Page 27 -- Inventory -- December 3, 1781: L 119-19-6. EDWD. WARE, ISAAC WRIGHT, CHAS. TALIAFERRO."
