John Davis d. 1780 in Amherst Co. His will was filed 6 Mar 1780. His heirs are listed as Elizabeth, his wife. Phillip Davis, William Davis, Benjamin Davis, Jesse Davis, sons; Hannah Davis, daughter & David Davis, brother.
Truman Lawson on 13 Dec 2002 entered message 29084 on Davis GenForum board relating to the Estate of Phillip Davis noting his executors were David, William and Hannah who I presume are Phillips siblings. He also mentions Jesse and Margaret, children of Jesse were in Scott Co., VA by 1810.
Nancy Helvey answered Truman's query asking if Phillip Davis m. Ann Hillen. Helvey is a surname that fits in to my Davis Family genealogy.
There are at least two Phillip Davises in the Davis family who are descendants of Benjamin Davis of Loudoun Co., VA whose will was probated in 1803. Benjamin Davis m. Hannah ____? they had two sons, Howell and Abel & 4 Daus., Ann, Sarah, Rachel & Elizabeth I descend from Abel Davs who m. Mary Huffman, through their son John Davis [1800-1882] who d. in White Co., IN.
Mary Huffman was d/o John Huffman, b. in Berks o., PA 1741 and wife Margaret. John Huffman d. in Loudoun Co., VA in 1792. I am trying to determine if Benjamin of Loudoun Co. was the s/o John Davis of Amherst Co., VA.
