Are you sure you have the right RailRoad? I grew up in Gladstone and lived there until the sixties. The RailRoad for a long time was the C&O. I am not sure of when they started going to Gladstone but my Grandfather was a conductor and rode from Clifton Forge to Gladstone. He started working for the railroad at 14 as a water boy. I wish he was still alive. I have so many questions that he could answer. He was Matthew Brown Kern. He lived in Clifton Forge. My father worked at Gladstone. That's why we moved there. He was a brakeman until the 50s. He was Jack Stinnett. Most of the people there at that time worked for the railroad. There isn't much left there anymore since the railroad shut down most everything.

Check with the C&O. They have a web site online. They are in Clifton Forge. I was hoping they would have info about the people who worked for them but there isn't any. You can also check with the railroad board. They should have the info you are seeking. I can't remember how to contact them. I saw it once online. Maybe the people at the C&O in Clifton Forge can help you.

If I happen to find a place for you to contact I'll get back to you. Good luck in your search.
