All of these records are still available in the Ameherst Courthouse; having been there and read them myself, I can tell you they make for very dry reading, indeed! If the trip to Amherst County is not possible, there are transcriptions of the Amherst County Court Records that have been published. They are available in The Virginia Room at the Main Branch of the Roanoke City Public Library, and are probably available through inter-library loan to your local library.
