Benjamin and Rose were married Feb. 14, 1894 in Amherst Co, VA. They made thir home outside of Monroe on Winsap Road. Their home was an old log cabin which fell down years ago. In that house most, if now all of their eight children were born. Benjamin worked for the Southern by day and I understand he farmed at night, plowing by moonlight. Both died too early; both in their 40's. He died Dec. 6, 1913 and she followed him on Oct. 3, 1916. They were buried in a cemetery (church) on Rt. 29 North somewhere between Amherst and Lynchburg. I was there in 1952 and at that time the old log cabin was just about down. I understand that a Mary Starnell lived or is living next door to the old home place. We did find the cemetery but I have no idea what the name of the church was. The building was gone...just the cemetery remained. Could some kind soul help me? I would like to know the name of the cemetery and how to get there. I understand that a May Starnell lived or is living next door to the old home place on Winesap Rd. I would also like directions to the old home place.
. Thank you again for your time.
Jim
