I am searching for the parents of James Lovin who was a relative of mine. He was born in Amelia County in 1759. He is shown as James Loving in the 1790 personal property tax list and according to the Tennessee census his children were born in Virginia. His children were Benjamin, Rarity, Meredith, W. Ransom, Edmond, Garland and Peter. He was married to Frances Priscilla Clements on March 22, 1787 in Charlotte County Va. James served in the militia with Virginia troops of Colonel Edmond Booker and his file shows his last name as Loven.
Other family trees show his parents to be Gabriel Loving and Clara Bond but show no source. Others show his parents to be William Loving and Unity Chapman.
