Diane: My paternal grandmother was a HAWKINS. Her father was James Barney HAWKINS. Her grandfather was Ezekiel Hawkins, wife Mary UNK. One of their children was named Elizabeth causing me to wonder if there is a connection here. My paternal grandfather's family migrated to SC in 1820 from Amelia County, VA.

In your research on the HAWKINS line, do you know if any of your ancestors may have migrated to or through SC? I know their were at least two migrations out of Amelia County: one about 1790 and another in 1820.

A reply would be appreciated.
