Oney was the daughter of Thomas Wingo, son of Thomas Wingo, son of John Wingo who died in Amelia County in 1755 and left a will.
Oney had three brothers: Obediah moved to Spartanburg County, SC about 1785 and died there. Thomas who was probably in SC in 1785, moved back to Nottoway County and died in Virginia, and William who moved to Spartanburg County, SC about 1793 with several cousins and died there.
