A Jackson DNA Project has been started with FTM. This is a "Y-chromosome" DNA test and it is only for direct male descendants of a Jackson. This project was started to help anyone with Jackson ancestry to see if there is a common ancestor, but remember the person tested has to be a direct male descendant of a Jackson. The test is not expensive as it includes only 12 markers. The test does not give any medical or specific information about the person tested. It only tracks common ancestry information. This may be the only way that some Jackson descendants have of tracing their ancestry. There were many Jacksons at one time in Amelia Co. who may have gone into NC or TN.
